Wayne Announces the Sale of their Direct Service Operations in Europe.

Austin, Texas – December 20, 2013 - Wayne, A GE Business (NYSE: GE) and a global innovator of fuel dispensers and forecourt technologies, announced today that they are selling part of their direct service operations in Europe to three existing strategic partners: GiA, Wennstrom and KSW. As part of this agreement, the buyers will become long term strategic partners with Wayne representing the company’s full suite of products and technologies and providing world-class local service and support to customers.

“Using local channel partners to provide service support for our products has proved hugely successful for Wayne globally,” noted Global President of Wayne, Neil H. Thomas. “Prior to being acquired by GE in 2011, Wayne converted all of its direct service facilities in the U.S. and several others in Europe into sales, distribution, and service partnerships. It is a business model that works well for us in over 100 other countries and I am confident that we will see the same success in these additional countries in Europe.”

Under the terms of the agreements, GiA will acquire the existing Wayne service operations in Czech Republic, Poland, and Hungary; Wennstrom will be purchasing the Wayne service operations in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway; and KSW will be acquiring the Wayne service operations in Germany and Switzerland. All three companies have been partners with Wayne for a number of years.

“All three purchasing companies have existing relationships whereby they have already proven that they can provide outstanding service and local support to our customers in these regions,” said EMEA President for Wayne, Damian Tracey. “These strategic partnerships will ensure that local support for Wayne’s products and solutions is conducted by those best placed to do it – strong local businesses with a passion and proven capability in service station maintenance. In turn, these acquisitions will give Wayne the ability to focus on what it does best; developing new technologies and products designed for retailers throughout Europe. In addition to the Wayne Helix™ fuel dispenser, the Wayne Fusion™ forecourt system, and system and payment solutions, Wayne can focus on placing additional emphasis on GE’s Industrial Internet applications to improve our customers’ site operations.”

Thomas added, “Wayne remains totally committed to all countries in Europe. GiA, Wennstrom, and KSW are great local distribution and service providers. By working together, customers will receive the very best of capabilities from both parties.”
