Wayne Migrates to the GE Commercial Cloud
Cloud-Based Services Offer Improved Scalability, Functionality, and Customer Access.
Austin, Texas - July 22, 2013 — Wayne, A GE Business (NYSE: GE) and a global innovator of fuel
dispensers and forecourt technologies, announced today that it has migrated its cloud-based
application services to the GE Commercial Cloud hosting facility, improving the process
communications, infrastructure scalability, and data security of Wayne products. The migration also
ensures Wayne customers have 24/7 access to applications services from anywhere in the world.
Wayne iX Media™ platforms, inOvationTV™ media platforms, the Wayne Enterprise™ platform, which supports the Wayne iSense™ remote monitoring and diagnostics product, and other products are built upon infrastructures that require high levels of availability, security, and monitoring services – all of which are provided by GE’s hosted Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) offering. The GE Commercial Cloud also positions Wayne to fully embrace more cloud-based services in the future.
“Wayne is always looking for ways to improve our technology processes and ensure we’re offering our customers the very best products and services,” said Dan Harrell, senior engineering product manager for Wayne. “The cloud allows us to communicate more quickly on product enhancements, while improving the functionality, efficiency, and availability of the solutions customers use every day.”
With redundant datacenters located in Cincinnati, Ohio and Alpharetta, Georgia, the GE Commercial Cloud offers 15 minute response times, a single point of contact for each product, and meets GE security and compliance standards. The GE Commercial Cloud began hosting Wayne customer accounts and data earlier this year.
“The migration was a success! Our Wayne service teams worked diligently to make the transition fluid,” said Andrew Spence, Network Operations Center (NOC) technical lead for Wayne. “The data security of our customers is of utmost importance, and we feel confident and excited to be part of a cloud network maintained by Wayne and GE.”
