Dresser Wayne Acquires Automatic Tank Gauging Business, 4tech AS
Austin, Texas, USA (May 20, 2011)— Dresser Wayne, a global innovator of fuel dispensers and technologies, has acquired the assets of 4tech AS, a fuel tank measurement system company headquartered just outside Oslo, Norway. The acquisition adds 4tech’s full suite of automatic tank gauging (ATG) products to Dresser Wayne’s portfolio.
Furthering the successful sales and service relationship previously held between Dresser Wayne and 4tech in the Nordic region, the acquisition combines the strengths of the two companies and enables Dresser Wayne to deliver efficient fuel tank gauging solutions to fuel retailers worldwide. Serving 145 countries, Dresser Wayne will capitalize on its global scale to bring 4tech’s deep understanding and experience in ATG technologies to a growing number of fuel retailers around the world.
“Our goal is to provide fuel retailers with several important advantages. One is to help them manage their businesses more easily by establishing a single point of contact for 4tech ATG systems and Dresser Wayne products,” says Roar Jakobsen, ATG Finance and Operations Director for Dresser Wayne. “Another benefit is that combining Dresser Wayne’s Help Desk capabilities with 4tech’s support resources will result in better service delivery, and we will be able to offer enhanced project planning and installation services.”
In addition to 4tech’s suite of ATG products, FuelCom® and MiniCom® ATG control system hardware and software products will also be integrated into the Dresser Wayne global product portfolio.
To help simplify day‐to‐day site operations, fuel retailers can control ATG equipment with the Dresser Wayne Fusion™ Forecourt System which enables consolidated management of multiple devices into a single system.
“Adding ATG equipment to our product line is a natural extension of our efforts to streamline forecourt management,” Tom Barrett, Vice President of Global Aftermarket Services for Dresser Wayne explains. “Customers can control ATG functions within the same interface they use to control fuel dispensers, point‐of‐sale systems, car wash equipment and fuel price signs. The end result is a more efficient and economical solution for retailers to manage their site operations. We will enhance the possibilities for oil companies and multi‐site owners to consolidate data and manage their site inventories remotely.”
The Fusion controller is a component of Dresser Wayne’s scalable iX™ Technology platform that enables retailers to add valuable functionality to their forecourts such as PCI‐compliant payment systems and advanced marketing capabilities. Through the platform, technicians at Dresser Wayne’s new Network Operating Center can proactively perform many maintenance, upgrade and repair activities remotely through Internet connectivity, helping customers to avoid an onsite visit.
