Dresser Wayne Provides Chesterfield BioGas with CNG Systems for Refueling Stations at Howard Tenens Depots
Complete CUBOGAS™ Systems Include Oil‐Free Compressors, Enable Extremely Rapid Deployment.
BONNYRIGG, SCOTLAND, UNITED KINGDOM (May 16, 2011)—Dresser Wayne, a global innovator of fuel dispensers and technologies, has announced the installation of two compressed natural gas (CNG) cleaning and storage solutions based on its CUBOGAS CNG system. The solutions are located at natural gas refuelling stations in Essex and Lincolnshire designed and deployed by Chesterfield BioGas, a leading provider of renewable energy systems in the United Kingdom, for the logistics company Howard Tenens.
The Lincolnshire application involves the generation of biomethane from waste disposal processes for distribution to energy consumers via the national grid.
“These are the first CNG stations in the U.K. to be based on Dresser Wayne CNG technology,” said Wayne Marshall, regional account manager for Dresser Wayne. “They demonstrate our commitment to being a technology leader and to meeting the growing demand for alternative fuels; they also help demonstrate the green benefits of hybrid CNG /diesel‐engine technology.”
These CUBOGAS CNG systems are fully enclosed units, each of which comprises a highly efficient reciprocating CNG compressor as well as all wiring and other components needed to quickly and easily install the system onsite. In addition to providing the technology, Dresser Wayne worked with Chesterfield to determine the appropriate compressor size and type and to establish specifications for other equipment for the project.
Chesterfield BioGas chose Dresser Wayne for its extensive experience in deploying CNG systems, its reputation for long‐term reliability of its CNG technology and its ability to deliver within a challenging timeline. Turnaround from initial concepts, determination of specifications and overall project consulting to final working installation of the technology was less than three months.
Dresser Wayne also is responsible in the post‐installation period for ongoing monitoring of gas quality, including checks for and elimination of water vapors that are often present in natural‐gas distribution lines and that can disrupt the low water dew‐point that CNG systems require.
Chesterfield BioGas provides turnkey solutions for cleaning, storing and dispensing biomethane gas produced from waste for use as vehicle fuel. The company designs and installs filling stations for commercial fuel customers such as Howard Tenens. The refuelling stations that Chesterfield designed, and for which Dresser Wayne provided its CUBOGAS CNG systems, are being used to support Tenens’ rollout of dual fuel (diesel and gas) vehicles across its fleet.
