Dresser Wayne® Receives UL Certification for Ethanol Blenders in Ovation® Eco Fuel Dispensers

AUSTIN, Texas (August 9, 2010) – Dresser Wayne (www.DresserWayne.com),  a global innovator of fuel dispensers and technologies, received Underwriters Laboratories (UL) certification for its ethanol blender available in Dresser Wayne Ovation Eco Fuel dispensers.  The ethanol blender enables a single fuel dispenser to provide a range of combinations of gasoline and ethanol.

The Dresser Wayne EB12 and EB23 ethanol blender models are the first products to blend ethanol fuel through two hoses. This dual‐hose design enables each fuel lane to deliver low‐ethanol blends on one hose for conventional vehicles, and mid‐to high‐level blends on the other hose for flexible‐fuel vehicles.

“We want to simplify alternative‐fuel adoption so retailers can feel more confident about embracing this developing energy segment,” says Scott Negley, Dresser Wayne director of Alternative Energy Products. “With this approval, our entire eco fuel product portfolio is now UL certified. This helps our customers achieve and maintain regulatory compliance as they add eco fuels to their product offerings.”

Such flexibility not only addresses a wide range of consumer demand for renewable fuels, but also may help fuel retailers qualify for regional incentives and conform to evolving infrastructure requirements.   For example, with Dresser Wayne ethanol blender technology, retailers can switch easily from offering two grades of ethanol and three grades of gasoline (2+3) to three grades of ethanol and two grades of gasoline (3+2) on the same dispenser.

“In‐dispenser ethanol blending capabilities are important to a consumer as it gives them the choice of which blend of ethanol they would purchase at the pump,” states Phil Lampert, vice president of Market Development at Growth Energy, a group committed to cleaner, greener energy. “Achieving UL certification for the Dresser Wayne ethanol blender is another step forward as we explore sustainable energy possibilities.”
