Dresser Wayne Showcases  the New Paladin Secure Payment Module at CARWACS Show

AUSTIN, TX (March 17, 2008) – Dresser Wayne, a global marketer of retail fuel dispensers and technologies, will introduce its new Paladin™ Secure Payment Module (SPM) at the Convenience U CARWACS show March 18th and 19th in Toronto, ON, Canada. The fuel dispenser payment solution was the first in the industry to receive Interac® 2.0 Device Certification, a stringent set of payment terminal regulations designed to protect consumers’ financial data from theft and fraud.

Dresser Wayne will demonstrate the new product on the Ovation® iX fuel dispenser in Booth #301 at the Toronto Congress Centre where show attendees will have an opportunity to win a free Paladin SPM debit/credit payment terminal upgrade package. With an estimated retail value of up to $20,000. USD, the prize includes Paladin SPM upgrades for up to four fuel dispensers at one retail petroleum site. Visitors to the booth can submit their business card for the drawing which will take place on March 19th. The winner will be announced at the show.

Compliance with the Interac Association Chip PED Technical Specifications and Testing Requirements (TSTRs) assures the security of debit transactions processed on the Interac network, a national payment network that allows Canadians to access their money through Automated Banking Machines and Point-of-Sale terminals. Retail petroleum station owners will soon be required to have payment terminals on automated fuel dispensers that meet these regulations.

“We know that staying current with evolving security standards can pose challenges for our customers. Dresser Wayne is proactively creating solutions that help retailers meet developing requirements while protecting their legacy investments,” Tim Weston, product manager of Payment Technologies for Dresser Wayne says. “Our approach is to offer a modular solution on a scalable technology foundation for new fuel dispensers or retrofitted to existing equipment.”

The Paladin SPM is leveraged by Dresser Wayne’s award-winning iX™ Technology Platform that enables advanced marketing and management capabilities through three additional modules: iX Media™ encourages in-store sales and increased revenue through forecourt promotions; iSense™ self-diagnostics software provides remote monitoring and automatic troubleshooting, and iDPOS™ supports transaction and credit card sales independently of in-store POS systems. “Payment security is an area witnessing many changes as technology provides criminals with more opportunities to steal valuable data,” Weston explains. “To address these issues, we are helping retailers implement increasingly sophisticated ways of protecting consumer information. We want to ensure that our customers can begin to establish compliance now, before the regulations go into effect.”
