Dresser Wayne’s Fully Managed VRS II Solution to Provide Sainsbury full Vapour Recovery Stage II compliance
EDINBURGH, UK (16 October, 2007) – Leading UK food retailer J Sainsbury plc has engaged Dresser Wayne to provide a managed vapour recovery solution to ensure compliance with the new air quality regulations in time for the deadline on December 31, 2009. Dresser Wayne will install new Opus fuel dispensers as well as retrofit existing Opus sites with Stage II Vapour Recovery Systems (VRS II) at all Sainsbury petrol forecourts across the UK. To make the compliance as hassle free as possible Dresser Wayne will also deliver a full range of services, including program management, planning, installation, sub-contractor management, verification, and related civil, piping and electrical works.
“The potential for fuel emissions to affect the environment is a growing concern for all of us,” Jon Arnold, Category Manager – Petrol Forecourts at Sainsbury says. “We are committed to meeting the new air quality standards that address this crucial issue. Dresser Wayne has the technology, global experience and local resources to execute and maintain an end-to-end vapour recovery program. It’s a smart decision for the environment and for the business.”
Not only has Dresser Wayne installed tens of thousands of field-proven VRS II solutions worldwide and successfully helped major continental petroleum retailers meet rigorous new EU vapour recovery standards, they have the UK based teams of experts and resources to make it happen for Sainsbury’s. “We are very happy to be selected by Sainsbury’s to execute the Vapour Recovery Stage II program and are already well underway with installing and upgrading sites” states Dresser Wayne Managing Director, UK & Ireland Paul de la Port. “We are committed to handle every part of the solution so that Sainsbury only has to work with one trusted contact and can be confident that all stores are compliant by December 31, 2009.”
“By enlisting Dresser Wayne’s expertise to meet vapour emissions regulations, we can continue to devote our efforts to improving our customers’ experience while making significant strides in minimising our environmental impact,” Mr. Arnold states. Dresser Wayne started executing the program in 2007 and more than 60 Sainsbury’s stores will already be fully VR compliant by the end of 2007, well before the deadline.
