Dresser Wayne To Provide Methane Dispensing Equipment To Eni Agip Stations
MALMÖ, SWEDEN (March 28, 2007) – Dresser Wayne Pignone announced that it has signed a three-year contract with Italian fuel retailer ENI to provide supplies and support for the service stations that offer methane as an alternative fuel option under AGIP trademark.
“This agreement represents a very important step for Dresser Wayne Pignone, given the length and scope of the contract,” said Paolo Petracchi, Dresser Wayne Pignone’s Vice President of Gas and Retail division. “We believe this will provide an significant stimulus to the Italian market by promoting a carry-over phenomenon to both other major oil companies and the private sector.”
As part of the agreement, Dresser Wayne Pignone will provide each station under AGIP trademark with one of its new high tech CUBOGAS™ compressor units, as well as with Global Star™ methane fuel dispensers. In addition to the installation, Dresser Wayne Pignone will also offer service and support of the equipment for the duration of the contract. Initially, 29 stations will be equipped with the methane fueling equipment.
ENI has been active in developing environmentally friendly alternative fuels like methane and compressed natural gas (CNG) as a response to new EU regulations designed to reduce harmful carbon dioxide emissions and improve air quality.
“We are both proud and happy to be able to support ENI in such an important endeavour,” said Petracchi. “Dresser Wayne Pignone has a tradition of helping develop and encourage forward-looking technologies that benefit fuel retailers and consumers alike.”
