Wayne Nucleus® Pos Offers Broadband Payment Through Datawire Communications Technology
AUSTIN, Texas (July 25, 2005)— Dresser Wayne and Datawire Communication Networks Inc. have joined forces to offer the speed, security and cost efficiency of Internet-based payment card processing services on the Wayne Nucleus POS system. This new service allows card-based payment transactions to be processed in only three to five seconds, which is far less than a typical dial-up connection. Even better news for retailers, IP processing costs less than satellite services and eliminates the need for multiple phone lines by utilizing one internet connection.
The Wayne Nucleus POS system is successfully operating in the retail fuel market with the Datawire solution. The Datawire VXN® Network is a faster and more secure network for moving transactions over the Internet. The Datawire VXN Micronode can be added to Nucleus POS systems with ease using “plug and play” connectivity without the need for additional hardware, making the transition to this new technology essentially transparent to the operator. In addition, customers are able to make their purchases faster with a shorter transaction time so retailers can handle more customers increasing sales opportunities.
“This is another offering for our Nucleus POS customers to keep our commitment of providing the most advanced technology in the industry,” said Tom Chittenden, systems product manager for Dresser Wayne.
The successful use of the Datawire network in the retail fueling industry has led to cost savings, increased revenue and increased ease of use for their customers. Dresser Wayne and Datawire have received certification to run transactions on both Alliance and Concord payment processing services.
